In putting the little gift baskets together for the kids I wanted to gather classic kids toys to give. The contents included bubbles, knitted ball, jump rope, wooden top, and wooden bird whistle.

 

Ilm Tree Eid Favors

Ilm Tree had a family picnic in Montclair to celebrate Eid so I made these candy bags for the children. The children also had a gift exchange and games.

Sour Cream Cookies

My Favorite Eid Cookies

These light and delicate cookies are my childhood favorites. They have become my family and friends favorites as well.

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 2 2/3 cups flour
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 1/2 tsp. soda
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1/2 cup sour cream

Directions

• Heat oven to 425 degrees
• Mix shortening, sugar, egg, and vanilla throughly.
• Blend dry ingredients; add to sugar mixture alternately with sour cream.
• Divide dough; roll out to 1/4" thick on well-floured surface.
• Cut with cookie cutter; place on greased baking sheet.
• Bake 8-10 minutes or until slightly browned.
• Once cooled frost with butter cream icing.

Time Passes So Quickly with the close of Ramadan my attentions immediately turned to a couple of other projects that I'd committed to and things are now finally winding down. I thought I'd take this weekend to get my last, very belated posts to wrap up Ramadan Joy for a time. This is a seasonal blog and it will be back during Hajj season with a few more ideas and projects.
