These cookies can be varied by either dusting with granulated sugar, colored sugars or icing.
Sugar Stars
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 T cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. soda
Directions
- Mix butter, sugar, and eggs.
- Stir in cream and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl stir dry ingredients together.
- Chill dough.
- Heat oven to 400 degrees.
- Roll a portion of the dough onto a floured surface.
- Cut out cookies with cookies cutters or the top of a drinking glass.
- Place on ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake 6-8 minutes,or until delicately browned.
With the icing they look similar to the Sour Cream Cookies I posted last Ramadan but these cookies are denser and not as light.
